A doctor with a passion for piano playing wished to have a high-quality instrument in his apartment. The space was also meant to feature numerous works of art—both paintings and sculptures. Additionally, the client wanted to break the previously stark interior forms of the early 21st-century building with decorative moldings. The refined materials and craftsmanship are complemented by parquet flooring with a brass inlay border and a TV wall clad in marble with expressive veining.
To balance this sophisticated décor compositionally, we proposed a minimalist design for the open kitchen connected to the living room. The main work area and storage space disappear behind sleek white fronts, leaving only a decorative island in view. Its base is clad in patterned veneer. One of the distinctive elements of this arrangement is a bioethanol fireplace integrated into the coffee table—another fulfilled wish of the client. This is just one of many contemporary design pieces in this eclectic space.
Striking design solutions also appear in the small guest bathroom, where oak cladding—extensively used in the adjacent hallway—meets the painterly patterns of marble.
